I just had to write and let you know that I am touched by your story.

I worked, in a professional capacity, dealing with people suffering various types of dementia, and always found it interesting to learn of the relationship between sufferer and carer.  It makes the whole situation seem more 'human' and real.  Thank you for letting us know how things came to be for you all.

Your Play Pillow is a wonderful invention, and shows that you noticed things about your mother that many carers would not have.  Having worked, as I say, with people suffering dementia, I, too, noticed the comfort that sufferers gained from having something close and personal that they could have around them.  Dependent on the degree of infirmity experienced by the sufferer there, invariably, came a time when the cuddly toy, handbag, or whatever needed to be 'cleaned out'.  This was always done when the client/patient was sleeping so that they didn't feel that something was being taken from them that was theirs.

Cool idea!  I received your website from a Charlie Brown's Kids parent.  Our participants make Memory Pillows from an article of clothing from a deceased parent.  The kids in our support group love their pillows. We make them this Thursday.  Your pillow took lots of thought & I'm sure they love them also.

Hi, I was very happy to see what a nice pillow you made for your mom. My mother in law is 59 and has alzheimers. It is so hard for my husband, me and our 2 daughters that are also young and do not understand why grandma doesn't know who they are. My 89 year old mother has Alzheimer's and I think she would love it!  I read the story of your mom and my heart goes out to you.  I know exactly what you are going through.  I am blessed to have my son and his wife live with my mom.  My daughter-in-law takes care of her full-time.  We just try to keep her happy and comfortable. 

Can I just mail you a check for $36.00 to your address listed on this site?  Is that the total or is there postage, handling, etc?  I have a PayPal account also, but it seems to take them so very long to complete a transaction, that it's probably faster for me to mail it!

I will give the pillow to my mom for Mother's Day (or maybe sooner if I get it!).
